Contact groups let you organize contacts into teams that receive alert notifications together. Instead of adding individual contacts to each notification policy, assign a contact group as the notification target. When a matching rule triggers, all contacts in the group are notified through the configured channels.
Supported notification channels:
Phone
Text message
Email
DingTalk message
How it works
The alerting workflow in Managed Service for OpenTelemetry connects four objects:
Contact --> Contact group --> Notification policy --> Alert rule
Create individual contacts with their notification details (phone number, email address, DingTalk account).
Organize contacts into contact groups based on team or responsibility.
Create a notification policy and assign one or more contact groups to it.
When an alert rule triggers and matches the notification policy, all contacts in the assigned groups are notified.
