Purchase an OpenSearch Vector Search Edition instance from the console to use vector search features.
Prerequisites
Ensure that you have:

An Alibaba Cloud account that has passed real-name verification

An AccessKey pair for your Alibaba Cloud account

The first time you log on to the OpenSearch console, you are prompted to create an AccessKey pair.

An AccessKey pair is required to create and use OpenSearch applications.

After you create an AccessKey pair for your Alibaba Cloud account, you can create one for a Resource Access Management (RAM) user to access applications as that user. RAM authorization.

A virtual private cloud (VPC). What is a VPC?

To access OpenSearch Vector Search Edition as a RAM user, grant the
AliyunSearchEngineFullAccessorAliyunSearchEngineReadOnlyAccesspermission to the RAM user through your Alibaba Cloud account.
Procedure

Log on to the OpenSearch console. In the upper-left corner, switch to OpenSearch Vector Search Edition.

In the left-side navigation pane, click Instances. On the Instances page, click Create Instance.

On the buy page, select Vector Search Edition as the service edition and configure the following parameters:

Set a username and password for query authentication. Do not use your Alibaba Cloud account credentials. Click Buy Now.

Configure QRS and Searcher worker counts and specifications based on your requirements. The fee is displayed on the buy page.

If the VPC or vSwitch differs from the ECS instance accessing OpenSearch Vector Search Edition, the error
{'errors':{'code':'403','message':'Forbidden'}}is returned.

On the Confirm Order page, verify the configurations, accept the service agreement, and click Activate Now.

After the purchase completes, click Console and verify that the new instance appears on the Instances page.
Rename an instance
Instance names are assigned automatically. To rename an instance:

On the Instances page, find the instance and click Manage in the Actions column.

In the Basic Information section, click the Edit icon next to the instance name. In the dialog box, enter a new name and click Confirm.
