Default rules are preset by CloudOps Orchestration Service (OOS) based on common O&M scenarios. The default rules can help you configure and enable O&M features in an efficient manner. We recommend that you use default rules so that O&M items can be automatically created when corresponding events occur. This topic describes how to use default rules to automatically create O&M items.
Introduction to default rules
Basic principles
When you enable the default rules in Operation Center, OOS automatically associates and creates event rules for EventBridge. When events are detected by EventBridge, the system automatically creates new O&M items based on the enabled default rules so that you can centrally manage these events in Operation Center. You can efficiently monitor and manage O&M events and resolve potential problems in a timely manner. This ensures the system stability and reliability.
Supported default event rules
ECS Instance Shutdown (System Error)
ECS Instance Shutdown (System Maintenance)
Scaling Group Scale-out Activity Failure of Auto Scaling
Scaling Group Scale-in Activity Failure of Auto Scaling
ApsaraDB RDS Instance Migration
ApsaraDB RDS Instance Scheduled O&M Event
ApsaraDB RDS Instance Minor Version Update
OOS Execution Failure
Permission
Service-linked role (AliyunServiceRoleForOOSOpsCenter)
When you create a default rule, OOS automatically creates and authorizes a service-linked role. OOS can assume this role to call EventBridge operations. For more information about service-linked roles for OOS, see Service-linked role policies (AliyunServiceRolePolicyForOOSOpsCenter).
Service-linked roles for EventBridge (AliyunEventBridgeGenerateOpsItemForOpsCenterRole)
When creating an O&M item, EventBridge needs to assume this role to complete the creation. Make sure that the
AliyunOOSFullAccesspermission is granted to the role. Make sure that the permission is granted before creating default rules.
Create a default rule
Log on to the CloudOps Orchestration Service console.
In the left-side navigation pane, click Operation Center.
On the Settings tab of the Operation Center page, click Create Default Rule.
Select a default rule, create the service-linked role, and grant the permission to the role.
NoteIf the service-linked role is already created and the permission is granted to the role, skip this step.
On the Create Default Rule page, click Authorize.
On the RAM Quick Authorization page, grant
AliyunOOSFullAccesspermission to the role and click Authorize.
After the permission is granted, click Return to go to the Create Default Rule page.

On the Create Default Rule page, click Create.
You can enable all default rules or enable rules based on your requirements. After rules are enabled, the system automatically creates event rules for EventBridge.
After default rules are created, you are automatically redirected to the Settings page. On this page, you can view the created default rules.

When EventBridge detects specific events, new O&M items are automatically created based on the enabled default rules. You can view the created O&M items on the O&M Items tab. For more information, see View O&M items.
View, modify, or delete a default rule
View default rules
You can perform the following steps to view details of created event rules.
Go to the Operation Center page.
Click the Settings tab. Find the default rule that you want to view and click Details in the Actions column.
On the details page, you can view the basic information, event target, and event mode.

Modify a default rule
After a default rule is created, you can modify the following parameters: Category (Availability Cost, Performance, Backup recovery , and Security), Severity (Low, Medium, High, and Severe), and Status (Enabled and Disabled).
After the default rules are created, we recommend that you modify the default rules in the OOS console instead of in the EventBridge console to avoid information conflicts.
Go to the Operation Center page.
Click the Settings tab. In the upper-right corner of the page, click Edit.
Find a default rule and modify the Category, Severity, or Status.

Click Save.
In the dialog box that appears, confirm the information and click OK.
Delete a default rule
You can perform the following steps to delete an event rule.
Go to the Operation Center page.
Click the Settings tab, find the default rule that you want to delete, and click Delete in the Actions column.

In the Delete Template message, click OK.
