CloudOps Orchestration Service:Use inventories to collect file information

Last Updated:Jun 20, 2024

This topic describes how to create and use an inventory.

Inventories allow you to search for the file information of instances. For example, you can search for files by file name, file type, file description, modification time, last access time, file directory, or file size. Before you collect file information, you must specify the instances from which you want to collect file information. Then, you must specify the collection frequency and inventory information. In this example, File is selected. In this case, you must specify the collection scope. After the settings take effect, the client that runs on the specified instances submits the property information of files on a regular basis.

Usage notes

  • To use an inventory to collect information, you must install a Cloud Assistant client of the latest version on the Elastic Compute Service (ECS) instances from which you want to collect information. In most cases, a Cloud Assistant client of the latest version is installed on official images by default. For more information about how to check the version of the Cloud Assistant client that runs on an instance, see Install Cloud Assistant Agent.

  • You must use an Alibaba Cloud account that is granted the required permissions on CloudOps Orchestration Service (OOS). If you use an account with administrator permissions, ignore this note. If you use an account that is not granted the required permissions on OOS, you must grant the required permissions to the account. For more information, see Access control.
