If you have created a large number of buckets across regions, you can specify a bucket name to query the region of the bucket. This topic describes how to query the region of a bucket by specifying the bucket name.

Usage notes

  • For more information about the regions supported by Object Storage Service (OSS), see Regions and endpoints.
  • You can call the GetBucketLocation operation and query the region of a bucket from the Location field returned. For example, the Location field of China (Hangzhou) is displayed as oss-cn-hangzhou.

Use the OSS console

  1. Log on to the OSS console.
  2. In the left-side navigation pane, click Buckets. On the page that appears, click the name of the bucket that you want to query.
    The region of the bucket is displayed in the upper-left corner of the page, such as China (Hangzhou).

Use ossbrowser

ossbrowser allows you to perform bucket management operations that you can perform in the OSS console. You can follow the on-screen instructions in ossbrowser to query the region of a bucket. For more information about how to use ossbrowser, see Use ossbrowser.
