ApsaraVideo Media Processing (MPS) provides multiple audio and video enhancement features such as dolby sound, virtual surround, sound enhancement, volume normalization, super resolution, and high dynamic range (HDR). The audio enhancement features are charged based on the number of processed minutes, and the video enhancement features are charged based on the number of processed frames. This topic describes the pricing, billing, and a billing example of the audio and video enhancement feature in MPS.
Overview
The unit prices provided in this topic are for reference only. For more information about the actual prices, visit the MPS pricing page.
If you use a preset super-resolution template, such as the multi-platform MP4-SDToHD or MP4-2KTo4K template, you are charged based on the prices for Super Resolution Standard. The preset super-resolution templates are available in the China (Hangzhou) and China (Shanghai) regions. To use these templates, you must enable an MPS queue for Narrowband HDTM 2.0. For more information, see Preset template details.
The specifications of an output video are based on the resolution range within which the long side and short side of the output video fall. Example:
If the long side of the output video is not greater than 1,920 pixels and the short side is not greater than 1,080 pixels, the output video belongs to the HD (1,920 × 1,080 pixels) specifications. If the long side of the output video exceeds 1,920 pixels or the short side exceeds 1,080 pixels, the output video belongs to a higher specification.

Billing
Item | Description |
Billing rules | You are charged based on the specifications and length of the output file when you use the audio and video enhancement feature. The minimum billable length is 1 minute. If a file fails to be enhanced, no fees are charged. |
Billing cycle | Bills are generated every hour. In most cases, the bill for a billing cycle is generated 1 hour after the billing cycle ends. The actual time when the system generates the bills prevails. Fees are automatically deducted from your Alibaba Cloud account after bills are generated. |
Billing method | Pay-as-you-go: The fees for audio and video enhancement are the sum of transcoding fees for various supported specifications. Transcoding fees for a specification type = Length of the output file × Unit price for the specification type. The minimum billable length is 1 minute. |
Billing example
If an H.264-encoded video whose resolution is standard definition (SD) (1,280 × 720 pixels), frame rate is 25 frames per second (FPS), and length is 200 minutes is transcoded to an HD (1,920 × 1,080 pixels) video in the Singapore region, the price for Super Resolution Standard applies to this transcoding. In this case, the transcoding fees can be calculated by using the following formula: 200 minutes × 60 seconds/minute × 25 frames/second × USD 0.001155/frame = USD 346.5.
