This topic describes how to create a watermark template and set its parameters in the ApsaraVideo Media Processing (MPS) console.
Background information
You can add visible watermarks, such as company logos or TV station icons, to your videos to highlight your brand, protect your copyright, and increase product recognition.
A watermark template is a set of parameters that define the position and size of a watermark. Using a template simplifies your development process.
Watermark templates apply only to image watermarks, not text watermarks. To add text watermarks, specify the WaterMarks parameter when you call the SubmitJobs operation.
A watermark template defines only the position and size attributes of a watermark, not the watermark asset itself. You must provide the watermark asset when you submit a job.
You can create a watermark template in the MPS console or by calling the AddWaterMarkTemplate operation.
Limits
By default, you can create up to 10 watermark templates in each region for each Alibaba Cloud account. To increase this limit, submit a ticket.
Procedure
Log on to the MPS console.
In the top navigation bar, select a region from the drop-down list.
In the navigation pane on the left, choose .
Click the Create Watermark Template button.
Set the parameters for the watermark template.
Parameter
Description
Template Name
Enter a name for the template.
Size (Width × Height)
Enter the width and height. The value must be an even number from 8 to 4096. The unit is pixels.
NoteIf you do not set the width and height, the watermark width is set to 0.12 times the width of the output video. The watermark height is scaled proportionally based on the aspect ratio of the original watermark image.
If you set only the width or only the height, the other dimension is scaled proportionally based on the aspect ratio of the original watermark image.
If you set both the width and height, the watermark is resized to the specified dimensions.
Location
Select the reference point on the video from which to offset the watermark. The following reference points are supported: TopRight, TopLeft, BottomRight, and BottomLeft.
Horizontal Offset
The offset of the watermark relative to the output video. Enter a value from 8 to 4096. The unit is pixels. The default value is 0. The following figure shows how offsets work.

Vertical Offset
Click Create.
