ApsaraVideo Live:Verify domain ownership

Last Updated:Jun 20, 2026

When you add a new domain name to ApsaraVideo Live for the first time, you must verify domain ownership. This topic describes how to verify domain ownership by using DNS record verification or file verification.

Background

After your domain name is verified, you do not need to verify it again when you add the same domain name or one of its subdomains in the ApsaraVideo Live console.

ApsaraVideo Live provides two verification methods: DNS record verification and file verification. You can use either method. This topic uses example.com as an example to illustrate how to verify domain ownership.

Method 1: DNS record verification

To add a new acceleration domain, verify the domain using a DNS record as follows:

  1. Obtain the record type, hostname, and record value for the acceleration domain.

    1. Sign in to the ApsaraVideo Live console.

    2. In the left navigation bar, select Domain Names > Add Domain. When you add a new domain for the first time and submit the request, you must add the specified TXT record as prompted on the page. Record the record type, hostname, and record value for use in subsequent steps.

After you configure the record, select Configured and click Verify to complete the verification.

  2. Add a DNS record.

    Note

The TXT record for domain verification must be added to your root domain.

    1. Sign in to Alibaba Cloud DNS.

This section uses Alibaba Cloud DNS as an example. The steps are similar for other DNS providers, such as DNSPod and Xinnet.

    2. In the list of domains, find your target domain name.

In the Actions column of the target domain, click Settings.

    3. Click Add Record. Enter the record type, hostname, and record value that you obtained in Step 1.

You can keep the default values for the other fields: request source, TTL, and record value load balancing policy.

  3. Verify the domain name.

Return to the ApsaraVideo Live console and click Verify to complete the verification.

Method 2: File verification

To add a new acceleration domain, verify the domain using a file as follows:

  1. Sign in to the ApsaraVideo Live console.

  2. Choose Domain Names > Add Domain > Method 2: Verification File.

  3. Download the verification.html file.

  4. Upload the verification file to the root directory of the domain's origin server (for example, an ECS, OSS, CVM, Cloud Object Storage (COS), or EC2 server).

For example, on an Internet Information Services (IIS) server, place the verification.html file in the root directory of the default website, such as C:\inetpub\wwwroot.

  5. The ApsaraVideo Live system must be able to access the origin server at http://example.com/verification.html to retrieve the verification file. Ensure that this file is publicly accessible.

  6. Click Verify to complete the verification.
