You can create a single-zone Lindorm instance in the Lindorm console. This topic describes how to create a single-zone Lindorm instance and the parameters that you must configure when you create the instance.
Prerequisites
An Alibaba Cloud account is created.
Usage notes
If your application is deployed on an Elastic Compute Service (ECS) instance, make sure that your Lindorm instance and the ECS instance meet the following requirements to ensure network connectivity:
The Lindorm instance and the ECS instance are deployed in the same region. We recommend that you also deploy the two instances in the same zone to reduce network latency.
The Lindorm instance and ECS instance are deployed in the same VPC.
Procedure
- Log on to the Lindorm console.
On the Instances page, click Create.
NoteYou can also go to the product details page and click Buy Now to create a Lindorm instance.
Set the Product Type parameter to Lindorm, Lindorm Standalone, or Lindorm Tunnel Service based on your business requirements.
NoteFor more information about the types of Lindorm instances, see Series.
Set the Billing Method parameter to Subscription or Pay-as-you-go.
NoteA pay-as-you-go instance can be converted into a subscription instance. A subscription instance cannot be converted into a pay-as-you-go instance.
Subscription: If you purchase a subscription instance, you must pay an upfront fee for the instance. For long-term usage, the subscription billing method is more cost-effective than the pay-as-you-go billing method. You are provided with larger discounts for longer subscription periods.
Pay-as-you-go: You are charged for your instance based on the instance specification. Bills are generated on an hourly basis. Fees are automatically deducted from your account. The pay-as-you-go billing method is suitable for short-term use. If you no longer require a pay-as-you-go instance, you can release the pay-as-you-go instance to reduce costs.
Configure the parameters described in the following table.
Parameter
Description
Deployment Method
Select Single Zone. The primary and secondary nodes of a single-zone Lindorm instance are deployed in the same zone. This deployment method can provide single-data center disaster recovery.
Region
Specify the region where you want to deploy the instance.
NoteAfter the instance is created, the region of the instance cannot be changed. Select the region with caution.
If your application is deployed on an ECS instance, we recommend that you deploy the Lindorm instance in the same region as the ECS instance.
Zone
Specify the zone where you want to deploy the instance.
NoteIf your application is deployed on an ECS instance, we recommend that you deploy the Lindorm instance in the same zone as the ECS instance to reduce network latency.
Network Type
Specify the type of network where you want to deploy the instance. This parameter can be set only to VPC.
VPC
Specify the ID of the VPC where you want to deploy the instance. If no VPCs are available, you can create a VPC in the VPC console. For more information, see Create and manage a VPC.
NoteIf your application is deployed on an ECS instance, we recommend that you deploy the Lindorm instance in the same VPC as the ECS instance. Otherwise, your application cannot communicate with the Lindorm instance over the internal network.
vSwitch
Specify the ID of the vSwitch to which you want the instance to connect. If no vSwitches are available, you can create a vSwitch in the VPC console. For more information, see Create a vSwitch.
Cluster Name
Specify the name of the instance, which is used to identify and manage the instance.
Storage Type
Specify the storage type of the instance. Lindorm provides the following storage types: Standard, Performance, Capacity, Local SSD, and Local HDD. You can select a storage type based on your business requirements. For more information, see Storage types.
Select Engine Type
Lindorm provides the following types of data engines: wide table, time series, search, file, and streaming.
You can specify the number and specification of nodes for the data engines based on your business requirements. For more information about the application scenarios of the engines and how to select engines, see Engines.
Data engines that you can select vary with the storage type that you specify. For more information, see Storage types.
Select Storage Capacity
Select the storage capacity of the instance.
Storage Space: Select the actual storage capacity of the instance.
NoteThis parameter is not available if you select Local SSD or Local HDD for the Storage Type parameter.
If you select Standard, Performance, or Capacity for Storage Type, the storage capacity that can be used in the instance is the same as the capacity that you specify for this parameter.
Disk Capacity of Each Node: Specify the disk capacity of each node. The value of this parameter cannot be changed.
ImportantThis parameter is available only if you select Local SSD or Local HDD for Storage Type.
Lindorm instances that use local disks are deployed in a triple-replica architecture. The available storage capacity of a Lindorm instance is 1/3 of the storage capacity that you specify when you purchase the instance.
Purchase Capacity Storage: Specify whether to enable cold storage for the instance. For more information, see Overview.
NoteThis parameter is unavailable if you select Capacity or Local HDD for Storage Type.
Capacity Storage
Specify the size of cold storage for the instance.
NoteThis parameter is available only when you select Standard or Performance for Storage Type and select Yes for Purchase Capacity Storage.
Subscription Length
Specify the subscription duration of the instance. This parameter is available only when you create a subscription instance. Valid monthly subscription periods range from one month to nine months. Valid yearly subscription periods range from one year to three years.
NoteIf you want to enable auto-renewal for the instance, select Auto-renewal and make sure that your account balance is sufficient before the system automatically renews the instance.
Resource Group
Specify the resource group that is used to manage the instance. You can select an existing resource group or create a new resource group. For more information, see Create a resource group.
After the preceding parameters are configured, click Buy Now.
On the Confirm Order page, agree to the terms of service, and then click Pay.
After the payment is complete, click Console to go to the Lindorm console.
