Enterprise Edition instances provided by IoT Platform help you manage resources based on various business requirements. You can use Enterprise Edition instances to manage multiple resources, such as products, devices, and the rules engine with higher efficiency.

Enterprise Edition instances are classified into standard instances and video instances.You can purchase a standard instance or a video instance based on your business requirements. For more information about the instance types, see Types of Enterprise Edition instances.

Notice Enterprise Edition instances are available only in the China (Shanghai) and Japan (Tokyo) regions.

Purchase an Enterprise Edition instance

  1. Log on to the IoT Platform console.
  2. On the Instance Overview page, click Purchase Instance.
    You can also click Purchase Enterprise Edition Instance under Common Entry on the right of the Overview page.
  3. On the buy page, select an instance type based on your business requirements and specify other parameters.
    Item Description
    Region Valid values: China (Shanghai) and Japan (Tokyo).
    Notice After you purchase an instance, select the region where the instance resides in the IoT Platform console. Otherwise, you cannot view the instance.
    Type Valid values: Standard Type and Video Type.

    Notice You can select Video Type only if you set the Region parameter to Japan (Tokyo).
    Online Devices The maximum number of online devices in the instance. The maximum number of devices that can be connected to the instance is 10 times the value of this parameter. You can configure this parameter based on your business requirements.
    Note The Devices parameter of the existing instances is changed to the Online Devices parameter. The maximum number of devices that can be connected to each instance is 10 times the value of the Devices parameter.
    TPS of Upstream & Downstream Messages The maximum number of upstream messages and downstream messages that can be sent per second. The total number of messages that all devices send to IoT Platform and messages that IoT Platform sends to devices per second cannot exceed this value.
    Note The number of messages is irrelevant to the length of the messages.

    You can configure this parameter based on the number of devices and the throttling limit of IoT Platform. For more information, see Connections and communications.

    Rules Engine TPS The maximum number of messages that the rules engine can forward per second. The total number of messages that are sent to your business server by using the server-side subscription feature and messages that are sent by using the data forwarding feature cannot exceed this value.
    Note The number of messages is irrelevant to the length of the messages.

    You can configure this parameter based on the limit of the rules engine. For more information, see Server-side subscription and Data forwarding (previous version).

    LinkVisual This parameter is available only for video instances. By default, the value of this parameter is Enable and cannot be changed.

    You can configure the Public Bandwidth for Videos and Video Storage Space parameters. The downstream traffic from IoT Platform is calculated for the public bandwidth. The upstream traffic to IoT Platform is free of charge. IoT Platform provides a free quota of 10 Mbit/s bandwidth.

    Quantity Specify the number of instances that you want to purchase.
    Note You can use each Alibaba Cloud account to purchase up to 20 instances.
    Duration Specify the validity period of the instance.

    After an Enterprise Edition instance expires, no service is available. Fifteen days after the instance expires, the instance is released. All resources such as products and devices in the instance are deleted and cannot be recovered. Before the instance expires, renew the instance at the earliest opportunity to ensure business continuity.

    After you purchase an instance, select the region where the instance resides in the IoT Platform console. You can find the instance on the Overview page.
    Note The most recent Enterprise Edition instance that you purchased is displayed at the top of the instance list.

Upgrade a new public instance to an Enterprise Edition instance

Notice Public instances of the new version are available only in the China (Shanghai) region.
  1. Log on to the IoT Platform console.
  2. In the Public Instance section of the Instance Overview page, click Upgrade to Enterprise Edition.
