Subscription instances stop running when they expire. Renew your instance before the expiration date to maintain continuous operation and prevent permanent data loss.
What happens when an instance expires
When a subscription instance expires, it goes through the following stages:

Instance stopped: The instance stops running immediately. Renew the instance to resume operation.

Resources released: If the instance is not renewed within the specified period, or if renewal fails, the associated project resources are permanently released and cannot be recovered.
Renew before the expiration date to avoid service interruption and unrecoverable data loss.

Log on to the Alibaba Cloud Management Console.

In the left navigation pane of the Expenses and Costs page, choose Renewal.

On the Renewal page, go to the Manual Renewal tab. In the Actions column for your instance, click Renew.

On the Renew product page, select a renewal duration, accept the Service Agreement, and click Buy Now.
Auto-renewal
Enable auto-renewal for instances you plan to use long-term. The system renews instances automatically before they expire, preventing resources and data from being released due to a missed renewal.

Log on to the Alibaba Cloud Management Console.

In the left navigation pane of the Expenses and Costs page, choose Renewal.

On the Renewal page, go to the Manual Renewal tab. In the Actions column for your instance, click Enable Auto-Renewal.

In the Enable Auto-Renewal dialog box, select a Unified Auto Renewal Cycle and click Enable Auto-Renewal.

(Optional) On the Renewal page, go to the Auto-renewal tab to view auto-renewal details for your instance. Available actions: Renew, Modify Auto-Renewal, Do Not Renew, and Enable Manual Renewal.
