ECR flow log billing

Express Connect Router (ECR) flow log billing consists of two parts: a traffic collection service fee and a Simple Log Service usage fee.

Traffic collection service fee

ECR flow logs currently support delivery to Simple Log Service only, so the traffic collection service fee applies to that delivery.

Billing rules:

Billed hourly, settled at the top of each hour (UTC+8). A new billing cycle starts after each settlement. Usage under one hour is rounded up to one hour.
Bills are generated approximately 3 to 4 hours after the billing cycle ends.
Billed per region monthly based on total log volume, with no cross-region aggregation.

Free quota:

Each Alibaba Cloud account includes a free quota of 5 GB per region per month. This quota is time-limited; check product announcements for the expiration date.

Simple Log Service usage fee

Flow log data stored in Simple Log Service incurs charges for data storage and retrieval. For details, see Simple Log Service billing.

Billing examples

Example 1: 100 GB

Region: China (Shanghai). Flow logs activated December 1, 2024. Volume delivered by January 1, 2025: 100 GB.

Traffic collection service fee = 100 × 0.37 = USD 37

Total monthly fee = USD 37 + Simple Log Service usage fee

Example 2: 60 TB

Region: China (Beijing). Flow logs activated December 1, 2024. Volume delivered by January 1, 2025: 60 TB.

Overdue payments and top-ups

Overdue payments

When a payment becomes overdue, the ECR flow log service pauses traffic collection. The service resumes automatically once you settle the bill.

Warning

If the instance remains paused for 15 days without payment, it is automatically deleted. An email notification is sent one day before deletion. After deletion, all configurations and data are permanently lost.

For up to 15 days after a payment becomes overdue, the ECR flow log instance continues to provide services as normal.
If the payment is still overdue after 15 days, the ECR flow log instance is suspended. While the instance is suspended, you cannot perform any operations on it.

If you add funds to your account within 15 days after a payment becomes overdue, your services are not affected.
If you add funds to your account within 30 days after a payment becomes overdue, the system immediately pays the outstanding bills. After the payment is successful, the ECR flow log instance is automatically restored. You do not need to manually restart the flow log.
Warning
If an instance remains suspended for 15 days due to an overdue payment, it is automatically deleted. You receive an email reminder one day before the instance is deleted. After the instance is deleted, its configurations and data are deleted and cannot be recovered.
