By default, Alibaba Cloud Edge Node Service (ENS) uses the pay-as-you-go billing method for edge computing power. This topic describes the billing details of Alibaba Cloud ENS edge computing power.
Pay-as-you-go
Edge computing power supports pay-by-day or pay-by-month. If you want to change the billing method, contact the business manager or join the DingTalk group 21740823.
Edge computing power consists of edge vCPUs, edge memory, and edge storage. The following table describes the billing details.

Pay-by-monthly-peak
The following rules apply to pay-by-monthly-peak:
- The billing rules are consistent for edge computing resources, including edge vCPUs, edge memory, and edge storage. For example, the sum of all edge vCPUs (daily peak value of vCPUs) that are monthly billed is calculated on a daily basis for pay-by-monthly-peak. At the end of a month, the maximum daily peak value of all edge vCPUs in the month is used for billing.
- Billing method: pay-as-you-go.
- Billing cycle: a calendar month.
- Valid days: the number of days from the day when you activate ENS to the last day of the month. For example, if pay-by-monthly-peak took effect on November 5, 2019, the bill for November 2019 contains 26 valid days.
- Effective factor: The ratio of the number of valid days in a calendar month to the total number of days in a calendar month. For example, if the bill for November 2020 contains 26 valid days, the effective factor of this month is calculated based on the following formula: 26/30 = 0.86666667.
- Final payment: To calculate the final fee, multiply the fee calculated based on the billing rule by the effective factor.
Pay-by-daily-peak
The following rules apply to pay-by-daily-peak:
- The billing rules are consistent for edge computing resources, including edge vCPUs, edge memory, and edge storage. Edge vCPUs are used as examples to describe the billing rules. The total computing power of all instances in your account is calculated every five minutes. The maximum value among the 288 results in a day (daily peak value of vCPUs) is used for billing.
- Billing method: pay-as-you-go.
- Billing cycle: a day.
- Final payment: To calculate the final fee, multiply the maximum value calculated based on the billing rules by the daily price.
Subscription
The subscription of edge computing power is available only for some users. You can or join the DingTalk group 21740823.
Usage notes
The bill for the current billing cycle is issued on the first day of the next calendar month. For example, the bill for February from 00:00:00 on 2017-02-01 to 23:59:59 on 2017-02-28 was generated on March 1, 2017.
After a bill is generated, fees are automatically deducted from your account balance. Make sure that you have sufficient balance in your account to avoid overdue payments.
