The CloudMonitor service can monitor the status of Edge Private Network (EPN) physical ports in real time and send alerts based on your custom rules. This lets you quickly detect and respond to network failures and ensure business stability.
Prerequisites
You have created edge access ports and lines. For more information, see Edge access ports and lines.
Before you configure an alert rule, you have created an alert contact or contact group.
Configure an alert rule for an edge port
You can configure alert rules for an edge port. If a dedicated line fails, CloudMonitor sends alerts based on your configured rules. This helps you quickly identify exceptions on the instance and prevent business interruptions.
Log on to the Cloud Monitor console for ENA - Edge Port.
Click Create Alert Rule.
On the Create Alert Rule page, set the parameters for the alert rule, and then click Confirm.
NoteThis section describes only the configurations that are relevant to this topic. For information about other items, see Create an alert rule.

Edge Network Acceleration (ENA) - Edge Port
Resource Range
The range of the resources to which the alert rule applies. Valid values:
All Resources: The alert rule applies to all resources of the specified cloud service.
Application Groups: The alert rule applies to all resources in the specified application group of the specified cloud service.
Instances: The alert rule applies to the specified resources of the specified cloud service.
Rule Description
The content of the alert rule. The parameters in this section specify the conditions that trigger an alert. To specify the rule description, perform the following steps:
Click Add Rule and select a metric type from the drop-down list.
In the Configure Rule Description panel, enter a Rule Name and then set the conditions for the rule.
Simple Metric: Select a metric, and then set a threshold and an alert level for the metric.
Combined Metrics: Select an alert level, and then configure alert conditions for two or more metrics.
NoteIf you configure an alert rule for multiple metrics, the destination resource must have data for each metric. The alert is triggered only after the conditions are met. For example, if an alert rule for multiple metrics includes the inbound port rate and the outbound port rate, the alert is not triggered if the inbound port rate does not exceed the specified threshold.
Expression: Select an alert level, and then configure an alert expression.
Dynamic Threshold: For more information about intelligent thresholds, see Overview and Create an alert rule for an intelligent threshold.
Click OK.
NoteFor more information about how to configure complex alert conditions using expressions, see Expressions for alert rules.
Metrics for edge ports
For more information about the metrics, see Cloud Monitor Metric Query - Time Series Metrics - ENA - Edge Port.
Metric | Description | Metric name |
Inbound port rate | The network rate at which data is transmitted from the peer device to the edge port. | PortBwIn |
Outbound port rate | The network rate at which data is transmitted from the edge port to the peer device. | PortBwOut |
Inbound port CRC | The number of inbound CRC error packets on the edge port. | PortCrcIn |
Outbound port CRC | The number of outbound CRC error packets on the edge port. | PortCrcOut |
