Procedure

Step 1: Create an EPN instance

  1. Log on to the ENA console and choose .

  2. On the Create EPN Instance page, click Create EPN Instance and configure the following parameters.

    Parameter

    Description

    Name

The name of the EPN instance.

    Region

    Select outside Chinese mainland.

    Note

Currently, the EPN service does not support connections between regions in the Chinese mainland and regions outside of it.

    Description

The description of the EPN instance.

  3. After you configure the parameters, click Add ENSGW.

  4. After the instance is created, click Add ENSGW in the pop-up window, and then click Buy Now on the payment page.

    Note

Creating an EPN instance is free because the service is pay-as-you-go. For information about the billing of the EPN service, see EPN pricing.

Step 2: Create access points

EVBR (edge access port)

You can create an Edge Virtual Border Router (EVBR) based on an edge access port to connect your enterprise data center/intranet to the EPN instance.

  1. On the EPN Instances page, find the EPN instance that you created and click Details.

  2. On the EPN instance details page, click Create EVBR and configure the following parameters.

    Parameter

    Description

    Creation type

Select Create EVBR Based on Edge Access Port.

    Edge access port

Select the edge access port for the EVBR.

If no edge access port is available, see Edge network resources to create one.

    VLAN ID

Enter the VLAN ID for the EVBR. Valid values: 0 to 4000.

    Note
    • If the VLAN ID is 0, the edge access port uses a Layer 3 routing interface instead of a VLAN interface. In this mode, an edge access port supports only one EVBR.

    • If the VLAN ID is 1 to 4000, the edge access port uses VLAN-based Layer 3 subinterfaces. Each VLAN ID corresponds to one EVBR. EVBRs on different VLANs are isolated at Layer 2.

    Bandwidth

Set the bandwidth for the EVBR. The total bandwidth of all EVBRs on the same edge access port cannot exceed the bandwidth of the port.

    Note

The bandwidth of the EVBR affects the EPN service fees. For more information, see EPN pricing.

    Routing method

Select the routing method for the EVBR. You can select BGP or static route.

    Client AS number

Enter the BGP Autonomous System (AS) number of the EVBR peer. This parameter is required only for the BGP routing method.

    Note
    • The client-side AS number must be in the range of 1 to 4,294,967,295, and cannot be 45013.

    • The AS number on the EVBR side is fixed at 45103 and cannot be changed.

    Primary peer IP address

Enter the Edge Cloud Peer IP Address and Client Peer IP Address for the primary link.

    Secondary peer IP address

Enter the Edge Cloud Peer IP Address and Client Peer IP Address for the secondary link.

    Note

This parameter is optional. The secondary link is activated only if the primary link fails.

    Advanced features (BFD configuration)

Enable Bidirectional Forwarding Detection (BFD) and configure the following settings:

    • BFD UDP destination port: 3784 (direct connection) and 4784 (multi-hop).

    • BFD sending interval (ms): 200–1000.

    • BFD receiving interval (ms): 200–1000.

    • BFD probe count: 3–10.

    Note

BFD is a fast failure-detection mechanism for network links. It can work with BGP to accelerate route convergence and ensure service stability.

EVBR (shared cloud port)

You can create an EVBR based on a shared cloud port to connect the EPN instance to Express Connect. This lets you access resources such as ECS, VPC, and OSS in the Alibaba Cloud central region.

  1. On the EPN Instances page, find the EPN instance that you created and click Details.

  2. On the EPN instance details page, click Create EVBR and configure the following parameters.

    Parameter

    Description

    Creation type

Select Create EVBR Based on Shared Cloud Port.

    Edge access port

Select the shared cloud port on which you want to create the EVBR.

If no shared cloud port is available, see Edge network resources to create one.

    Bandwidth

Set the bandwidth for the EVBR.

    Note
    • An EVBR's bandwidth cannot exceed the bandwidth of its shared cloud port.

    • The bandwidth of the EVBR affects the EPN service fees. For more information, see EPN pricing.

    Routing method

Select the routing method for the EVBR. You can select BGP or static route.

    Client AS number

Enter the BGP AS number of the EVBR peer.

ENSGW (ENS node)

You can create an Edge Node Service Gateway (ENSGW) on an ENS node to connect an ENS VPC to the EPN instance.

  1. On the EPN Instances page, find the EPN instance that you created and click Details.

  2. On the EPN instance details page, click Add ENSGW and configure the following parameters.

    Parameter

    Description

    Node

Enter the ID of the ENS node for the ENSGW.

    Note

You can find the node ID in the ENS console.

    Rate limit

Set the rate limit for the ENSGW.

    Note

Note: The rate limit affects EPN service fees.

  3. Click Associate vSwitch next to the ENSGW and configure the following parameter.

    Note

After creating the ENSGW, associate it with an ENS vSwitch to add the corresponding VPC to the network.

    Parameter

    Description

    vSwitch

Select the ENS vSwitch that you want to add to the EPN instance.

    Note

You can find the ENS vSwitch in the ENS console.
