A subscription cloud desktop has a validity period. A subscription cloud desktop is automatically released after it expires, and your desktop data is permanently lost. If you want to continue using the cloud desktop, you must renew the cloud desktop before it is released. This topic describes how to renew a subscription cloud desktop.

Background information

You can renew a subscription cloud desktop by using one of the following methods:
  • Manual renewal: You can renew a subscription cloud desktop at any time before it is released. A subscription cloud desktop is released seven days after it expires.
  • Auto-renewal: The EDS system renews a subscription cloud desktop before it expires. If you enable auto-renewal for a subscription cloud desktop, the cloud desktop is automatically renewed when it reaches the expiration time. This helps prevent unexpected resource release and data loss.
Before you enable auto-renewal for a subscription cloud desktop, take note of the following items:
    • You can enable auto-renewal for a subscription cloud desktop only before the cloud desktop expires.
    • After auto-renewal is enabled for a subscription cloud desktop, the system attempts to deduct fees three days before the expiration date. Make sure that your account balance is sufficient. If the system fails to deduct fees, the system notifies you by email. We recommend that you check your emails regularly to prevent desktop resources from being released when the subscription cloud desktop expires.
    • If you have renewed a subscription cloud desktop before the system implements auto-renewal, auto-renewal is stopped for the current billing cycle.
Note The auto-renewal feature is supported only for subscription cloud desktops. Pay-as-you-go cloud desktops do not need to be renewed. Make sure that your account balance is sufficient.
