Resource Advisor provides suggestions to help optimize the performance and costs of Elastic Compute Service (ECS) instances based on the CPU utilization and memory usage of the instances. This topic describes how to view the optimization suggestions and optimize the performance and costs of ECS instances based on the suggestions.
Background information
Performance optimization suggestions are provided for ECS instances that have a per-minute CPU utilization or memory usage greater than 85% for a total of 2 days or more over the previous 14 days.
Cost optimization suggestions are provided for ECS instances that have a per-minute CPU utilization or memory usage lower than 5% over the previous 30 days.
Procedure
In the top navigation bar, select the region and resource group of the resource that you want to manage.
In the left-side navigation pane of the Resource Advisor page, click Optimization Suggestions.
On the Optimization Suggestions tab, view the resources for which you can optimize performance and costs.

Click the Performance Optimization tab and view the resources for which you can optimize performance.
View information about business architecture optimization. In the Business Architecture Optimization section, view information about how to optimize your business architecture.
Resource Advisor analyzes your ECS resources and provides suggestions on how to optimize your business architecture. For more information about architecture optimization suggestions, see Elastic Container Instance or Auto Scaling.
View the resources for which you can optimize performance.
In the Resource Optimization section, view the ECS instances for which you can optimize performance.
Click View Suggestion in the Optimization Suggestions column that corresponds to an instance. In the dialog box that appears, view the performance optimization suggestions.
The Optimization Suggestion dialog box shows the resource that can be optimized and the instance type optimization suggestions. You can change the configurations of the instance based on the optimization suggestions, such as selecting a recommended instance type based on the price and price difference. View the resources for which you can optimize costs
Click the Cost Optimization tab and view the resources for which you can optimize costs.
View information about business architecture optimization. In the Business Architecture Optimization section, view information about how to optimize your business architecture.
