Elastic Compute Service:Disable async replication for replication pair-consistent groups

Last Updated:Oct 24, 2023

After you activate replication pairs in replication pair-consistent groups by enabling async replication, if you do not need to replicate data from the primary disks to the secondary disks or if you want to perform a failover, you can disable async replication for the replication pair-consistent groups. After async replication is disabled, the primary and secondary disks roll back to the point in time at which the last asynchronous replication was completed. The secondary disks drop all the data that is being replicated from the primary disks. This topic describes how to disable async replication for replication pair-consistent groups.

Prerequisites

The replication pair-consistent groups in the Synchronizing, Normal, Stopping, Stop Failed, or Stopped state.

Procedure

  1. Log on to the Elastic Block Storage (EBS) console.

  2. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Enterprise-level Features > Replication Pair-consistent Group.

  3. In the upper-left corner of the top navigation bar, select a region. 地域

  4. Use one of the following methods to disable async replication for replication pair-consistent groups:

    • Disable async replication for a single replication pair-consistent group.

On the Replication Pair-consistent Groups page, find the replication pair-consistent group for which you want to disable async replication and click Stop in the Operation column.

    • Batch disable async replication for multiple replication pair-consistent groups.

On the Replication Pair-consistent Groups page, select the replication pair-consistent groups for which you want to disable async replication and click Batch stop in the lower part of the page.

    • Disable async replication for all replication pairs in a replication pair-consistent group.

On the Replication Pair-consistent Groups page, click the ID of the replication pair-consistent group that you want to manage. On the group details page, click Stop in the upper-right corner of the page.

After async replication is disabled, the primary and secondary disks roll back to the point in time at which the last asynchronous replication was completed. The secondary disks drop all the data that is being replicated from the primary disks. After the preceding steps are performed, Stopped is displayed in the Status column corresponding to the replication pair-consistent groups.
