The resource specifications recommendation feature of Resource Advisor recommends resource schemes based on your business scenarios and computing power requirements. This topic describes how to obtain recommended resource schemes based on physical machine configurations or computing power requirements.
Obtain recommended resource schemes based on physical machine configurations
Before you migrate servers (physical machines) from an on-premises data center to the cloud, specify the configurations of the servers to allow Resource Advisor to recommend matching resource schemes and help you configure a capacity plan for the cloud migration. The configurations of a server include the CPU model, number of CPUs, and memory size.
Log on to the ECS console.
In the left-side navigation pane, choose Instances & Images >
> Resource Advisor. In the upper-left corner of the top navigation bar, select a region.
In the left-side navigation pane of the Resource Advisor page, choose Advanced Resource Planning > Specifications Recommendations.
On the Data Center Cloud Migration tab, specify a region, configure the Physical Machine Configuration parameters, and then click OK.
Physical Machine Configuration parameters:
CPU Model
Physical Cores per CPU and CPU per Physical Machine
Memory Size per Physical Machine
Physical Machines
In the Translated Demand section, view the resource schemes that are recommended by Resource Advisor and the prices of the resources in the schemes.
Click Buy Resources or Reserve Resources based on your business requirements.
Obtain recommended resource schemes based on computing power requirements
Before you purchase computing resources in the cloud, you can specify your computing power requirements to allow Resource Advisor to recommend matching resource schemes and help you configure a purchase plan.
Log on to the ECS console.
In the left-side navigation pane, choose Instances & Images>Resource Advisor.
In the upper-left corner of the top navigation bar, select a region.
In the left-side navigation pane of the Resource Advisor page, choose Advanced Resource Planning > Specifications Recommendations.
Click the Computing Power Required tab, configure the parameters in the Computing Power section, and then click OK.
In the Translated Demand section, view the resource schemes that are recommended by Resource Advisor and the prices of the resources in the schemes.
Click Buy Resources or Reserve Resources based on your business requirements.
