This topic describes how to modify the name, description, tags, and Non-Volatile Memory Express (NVMe) attribute of a custom image.

Prerequisites

  • A custom image is created or imported.
  • A tag is created. For more information, see Create or add a tag.

Modify the name and description of a custom image

The following section describes how to modify the name and description of a custom image.

Manage tags for a custom image

Tags can be used to identify resources with similar characteristics, such as custom images that belong to the same organization or that serve the same purpose. You can use tags for easy search and management of your resources. For more information, see Overview.

The following section describes how to manage tags of a custom image.

  1. Log on to the ECS console.
  2. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Instances & Images > Images.
  3. In the top navigation bar, select a region.
  4. On the Images page, click the Custom Images tab and find the custom image whose tags you want to manage. Move the pointer over the edit-tag icon in the Tag column.
    • If you have not added tags to the custom image, click Edit to add tags.
    • If you have added tags to the custom image, click Edit to edit the tags.
    • You can also select one or more images in the image list and click Add Tag below the image list.
  5. In the Configure Tags dialog box, select existing tags and click OK.

Set the NVMe attribute of a custom image

If you create a custom image from an instance that have the NVMe driver manually installed, you must set the NVMe attribute of the image to Supported. Then, the custom image can be recognized as an image that supports the NVMe driver. Instances that are created from the image and support the NVMe driver can start as expected.

After you set the NVMe attribute of a custom image to Supported, the following affects apply to related resources:
  • When you create an instance, if you select an instance type (such as ecs.g7se and ecs.c7se) that supports the NVMe driver, you can select only a custom image whose NVMe attribute is set to Supported.
  • When you use the custom image to create an instance, you can select an instance type, regardless of whether the instance type supports the NVMe driver.
  • If you copy or share the custom image, the image copies and shared images have the same NVMe attribute as the custom image.

The following section describes how to set the NVMe attribute of a custom image.

  1. Log on to the ECS console.
  2. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Instances & Images > Images.
  3. In the top navigation bar, select a region.
  4. On the Images page, click the Custom Images tab.
  5. Find the custom image that you want to manage and click its image ID.
  6. In the Basic Information section, click Edit next to the NVMe value.
  7. In the Set Nvme Attributes dialog box, set NVMe to Supported and click OK.
