Elastic Compute Service:Use a custom image to create one or more instances

Last Updated:Jan 22, 2024

On-premises images that are imported to Elastic Compute Service (ECS) are recognized as custom images. You can use the images to create instances that have identical operating systems, applications, and data to improve the O&M efficiency of your business in the cloud.

Procedure

Note

If you use a custom image to create ECS instances, you are charged for resources that you use, such as vCPUs, memory, storage, public bandwidth, and snapshots. For more information about billing, see Billing overview and Images.

  1. Log on to the ECS console.

  2. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Instances & Images > Images.

  3. In the top navigation bar, select the region and resource group to which the resource belongs. 地域

  4. On the Images page, click the Custom Images tab.

  5. Find a custom image that you imported and click Create Instance in the Actions column.

  6. The region and image are automatically specified. Configure other parameters, such as Billing Method, Instance Type, and System Disk, based on your business requirements.

For more information, see Create an instance by using the wizard.

What to do next

If you add data disks when you create the instance, you must format and partition the data disks before you can use the data disks. For more information, see Initialize a data disk up to 2 TiB in size on a Windows instance or Initialize a data disk whose size does not exceed 2 TiB on a Linux instance.
