After you create an Elastic Compute Service (ECS) instance, you can use the Virtual Network Computing (VNC) management terminal to connect to and log on to the ECS instance.

Background information

The operations described in this topic involve two types of passwords: remote connection passwords and instance logon passwords used by the root or administrator user. If you log on to an instance as the root or administrator user and you forget the logon password of the instance, you can reset the logon password of the instance. For more information, see Reset the logon password of an instance.

  1. Log on to the ECS console.
  2. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Instances & Images > Instances.
  3. In the top navigation bar, select a region.
  4. On the Instances page, find the instance to be connected and click Connect in the Actions column.
  5. In the Connection and Command dialog box, click Connect in the VNC Connection section.
