Billing methods for IP Application Accelerator - Edge Security Acceleration - Alibaba Cloud - Edge Security Acceleration

IP Application Accelerator (IPA) and Dynamic Content Delivery Network (DCDN) are two independent services and are billed separately. Both support pay-by-data-transfer and pay-by-peak-bandwidth. After you enable IPA, pay-by-data-transfer is used by default. You can change the metering method based on your business requirements.

Note

IPA charges only for accelerated traffic. HTTP requests are not billed.

Pay-by-data-transfer (default)

Scenario	Billing rule
Websites with highly fluctuating traffic and bandwidth spikes, where daily bandwidth usage is below 30%.	Description: You are billed for the monthly outbound traffic on DCDN points of presence (POPs) based on tiered pricing. Billable item: traffic. Billing method: pay-as-you-go. Billing cycle: hourly. Bills are generated approximately 3 to 4 hours after each billing cycle ends. The exact time is determined by the system.

Pay-by-peak-bandwidth

Important To use the pay-by-peak-bandwidth metering method, make sure that the peak bandwidth value within the previous 30 days exceeds 5 Gbit/s and contact your account manager or contact us by other means.

Billing rule

Websites with relatively stable traffic, where daily bandwidth usage exceeds 30%.

Description: You are billed based on the daily peak bandwidth. Bandwidth data is collected every 5 minutes, producing 288 data points per day. The highest value is used as the billable daily peak bandwidth.
Billable item: peak bandwidth.
Billing method: pay-as-you-go.
Billing cycle: daily. Bills are generated and the amount due is deducted after 00:00 on the following day. The exact time is determined by the system.
