When you no longer need a cluster, release it to save costs.
Prerequisites
Ensure that you have backed up the cluster data.
Releasing a cluster is an irreversible action. Once released, the cluster's data cannot be recovered. Proceed with caution.
Background
After you release a cluster, its pay-as-you-go nodes are automatically released. Subscription nodes are retained until they expire and are then automatically released. To release a subscription node before it expires, change it to a pay-as-you-go instance and then release it. Procedure

Sign in to the Elastic High Performance Computing console.

In the upper-left corner of the top navigation bar, select a region.

In the left-side navigation pane, click Cluster.

On the Cluster page, in the Actions column for the cluster you want to release, click More > Release.

In the dialog box, click OK.
The cluster enters the Releasing state. Once the release is complete, the cluster is removed from the cluster list.
