According to the policy of the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN), the registrant's email address must be valid. To simplify management and avoid repetitive verifications, create a registrant profile and verify the email address within it. Two profile types are available: common profiles for all top-level domains (TLDs) except .cn; CNNIC profiles exclusively for .cn domains, which additionally require identity verification and domain name review per rules of the China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC).
The Alibaba Cloud international site (alibabacloud.com) uses registrars outside the Chinese mainland. Therefore, domain names registered on the international site do not support ICP filing. If your website or service needs to be deployed in the Chinese mainland, you must register the domain name on the Alibaba Cloud China site (aliyun.com) and complete the ICP filing. Otherwise, your service may be inaccessible from the Chinese mainland.

Step 1: Prepare identity verification documents
Required documents for individual registrants
If you are an individual registrant, the following documents are supported for identity verification:
ID Card
Passport
Mainland Travel Permit for Hong Kong and Macao Residents
Mainland Travel Permit for Taiwan Residents
Permanent Resident Identity Card for Foreigners
Residence Permit for Hong Kong and Macao Residents
Residence Permit for Taiwan Residents
When filling out the information, ensure that the registrant name you enter exactly matches the name on the identity document.
Upload requirements
Upload a color scan or a digital photo of the original document. The file must be in JPG, JPEG, or BMP format, with a size between 55 KB and 1 MB.
The submitted scan or photo must be complete, clear, and uncropped, with no obstructions or alterations. Ensure the official seal of the issuing authority is clear and complete.
Do not edit the document's content with software like Photoshop or modify it manually. If the file format is incorrect, do not simply change the file extension. Instead, use an image editing tool to save it as a JPG, JPEG, or BMP file.
Required documents for organization registrants
If the registrant is an organization, such as a company, foundation, or school, prepare the business document for business identity verification based on the organization's registered region.
Registered region | Supported document | Description |
Within the Chinese mainland | Business License | Since October 1, 2015, the Business License, Organization Code Certificate, and Tax Registration Certificate have been combined into a single Business License. The certificate number is the standardized 18-digit Unified Social Credit Code. Note If the registrant is located outside the Chinese mainland, but has a business license issued by the market regulation authorities of the People's Republic of China, this business license is also supported. |
Organization Code Certificate | For organizations with older, still-valid Organization Code Certificates issued before the combination, the Organization Code Certificate is supported. If the certificate has an 18-digit Unified Social Credit Code, enter it. If it does not, enter the code number exactly as it is printed on the certificate. | |
Outside the Chinese mainland | Business documents issued by relevant authorities outside the Chinese mainland | Organizations registered outside of the Chinese mainland can use a local business registration document for business identity verification. For example, a company based in Hong Kong (China) may submit the Certificate of Incorporation. |
Upload requirements
Upload a color scan or a digital photo of the business document (either the original or a copy is acceptable).
A newly issued certificate may cause identity verification to fail. Wait at least 10 days after the certificate's issue date before submitting it for verification.
Step 2: Create the profile
Go to the Registrant Profiles page, choose the CNNIC Profiles tab, and click Create Registrant Profile. Then, fill in the required information.
