Data Transmission Service:Modify a subscription object

Data Transmission Service (DTS) lets you add or remove database objects from a running change tracking task during data consumption.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, ensure that you have:

  • A change tracking instance with a Status of Normal (see Overview of change tracking scenarios for setup instructions)

  • The required permissions on any object you plan to add, granted to the database account used in the change tracking task

Before you start

Review these behaviors before modifying the tracked objects:

  • Adding an object: The task tracks incremental data from the moment you add the object — not from any earlier point in time.

  • Removing an object: If the change tracking client continues to track changes of a removed object, you must filter the tracked data changes on the client side.

  • Advanced Configurations cannot be changed during this operation.

Change the tracked objects

  1. Go to the Change Tracking Tasks page.

    1. Log on to the Data Management (DMS) console.

    2. In the top navigation bar, move the pointer over Data + AI.

    3. Choose DTS (DTS) > Change Tracking.

    Navigation steps may vary based on your DMS console mode and layout. See Simple mode and Customize the layout and style of the DMS console for details. Alternatively, go directly to the Change Tracking page in the new DTS console.
  2. From the drop-down list to the right of Change Tracking Tasks, select the region where your task runs.

    In the new DTS console, select the region from the drop-down list to the right of Workbench on the Change Tracking Tasks page.
  3. In the Actions column of the target task, click Reselect Objects.

  4. Update the object list:

    • To add an object: In the Source Objects section, select the object, then click the 向右 icon to move it to Selected Objects.

    • To remove an object: In the Selected Objects section, select the object, then click the 左移 icon to move it back to Source Objects.

  5. Click Next: Advanced Settings.

  6. Click Next: Precheck and Start Task. When the message The objects of the change tracking task are changed. appears at the top of the page, the update is complete.

    The system skips the precheck when you change tracked objects.
  7. Click Changed. Return to go back to the Change Tracking Tasks page.

Verify the changes

To confirm the updated object list:

  1. On the Change Tracking Tasks page, click the ID of the task you modified.

  2. Click the image icon at the top of the page.

  3. Click View Objects.
