To accelerate content delivery from your website using ApsaraVideo VOD, designate the website as an origin server and add a corresponding accelerated domain name in the VOD console. ApsaraVideo VOD uses this domain to pull content from your origin and cache it on global CDN points of presence (POPs). This provides your viewers with low-latency access, improving playback performance.
Before you begin
To add an accelerated domain name, make sure you have:
A stable origin server. To use a VOD system bucket as the origin, you must enable the bucket first.
A domain name for acceleration. ICP filing is required if the acceleration region includes the Chinese mainland.
Limits
Limit | Description |
Unique domain names | Each domain name can only be added once across all Alibaba Cloud products. If a domain name conflict occurs, check whether it's used by other products, such as ApsaraVideo Live and Global Accelerator. |
Domain quota | Maximum 20 domain names per account. Submit a ticket to request more if your average daily peak bandwidth exceeds 50 Mbps. |
Content compliance | All content must comply with Domain name requirements. |
IPv6 | IPv6 is supported. See Configure IPv6 to enable it. |
Procedure
Log on to the ApsaraVideo VOD console.
In the left navigation pane, choose Configuration Management > CDN Configuration > Domain Names.
Click Add Domain Name.
Configure the following parameters:

We recommend using a subdomain for acceleration. It must consist entirely of lowercase English letters. Example:

Select the origin type:
VOD Bucket: Select a VOD system bucket as the origin from the drop-down list. If empty, enable the VOD bucket first.
OSS Domain Name: Use an OSS bucket as the origin.
IP: Use public IP addresses as the origin. Internal IPs are not supported.
Origin Domain Name: Specify the domain name of the origin. It cannot be the same as the accelerated domain.
Port
Select the back-to-origin port:
Port 80
Port 443
Custom Port: Specify a custom port (unavailable for OSS origin).
Acceleration Region
Select the acceleration region based on your audience locations . Pricing varies by region.
Chinese Mainland (ICP Filing Required)
Global (ICP Filing Required)
Global (Excluding Chinese Mainland): ICP filing is not required.
Read the warranty and select I understand and agree to the above compliance warranty.
Click Submit.
After approval, the domain appears on the Domain Names page with Activated status.
NoteSubmit a ticket to expedite review. ECS or OSS origins are typically approved faster.
