You can create one transit router in each region. A transit router is used to forward data within the same region or across different regions.

Background information

Transit routers have two editions: Basic Edition and Enterprise Edition. Basic Edition and Enterprise Edition provide different features. For more information, see How transit routers work.

You can use one of the following methods to create a transit router of Basic Edition or Enterprise Edition.
  • Automatic creation

When you connect to the first network instance in a region, the system automatically creates a transit router in the region. The system automatically recognizes the edition of the transit router based on the region.

  • Manual creation

You can delete an Enterprise Edition transit router, but you cannot delete a Basic Edition transit router.
