WUYING Workspace:Create, modify, and delete an AD user

If you have integrated your enterprise Active Directory (AD) system into WUYING Workspace and want to use AD to manage end users, you can create AD users in the AD domain controller of your enterprise AD domain. After AD users are created, you can modify user information, modify user passwords, or delete users based on your business requirements in the domain controller. This topic describes how to create, modify, and delete an AD user.

Prerequisites

Your enterprise AD system is available.

Create an AD user

After WUYING Workspace integrates your enterprise AD system, the WUYING Workspace system can obtain the information about AD users. This allows you to assign cloud computers to the AD users. In this topic, Windows Server 2016 is used as an example to describe how to create an AD user. The steps to create an AD user may vary based on the OS.

  1. Log on to the AD domain controller.

  2. In the left-side navigation pane, open Server Manager and click AD DS.

  3. In the right-side server list, right-click the server and choose Active Directory Users and Computers from the shortcut menu.

  4. Right-click the group to which you want to add users and choose New > User.

  5. In the dialog box that appears, specify basic information about the AD user that you want to create.

    1. Specify First name, Last name, Full name, and User logon name. Then, click Next.

    2. Configure the password and click Next.

    3. Confirm and record user information and click Finish.

Modify an AD user

If an end user forgets the password, you can change or reset the password for the end user. You can also modify the basic information about the end user. In this topic, Windows Server 2016 is used as an example to describe how to modify an AD user. The steps to modify an AD user may vary based on the OS.

  1. Log on to the AD domain controller.

  2. Open Server Manager and click AD DS in the left-side navigation pane.

  3. In the right-side server list, right-click the server and choose Active Directory Users and Computers from the shortcut menu.

  4. Find the desired user group and user and modify the password and basic information based on your business requirements.

    • Change the logon password

      1. Right-click the AD user for which you want to change the password and select Reset Password from the shortcut menu.

      2. In the Reset Password dialog box, enter a new password.

      3. Click Confirm.

    • Modify the basic information

      1. Right-click the AD user whose basic information you want to modify and select Properties from the shortcut menu.

      2. Modify information on the General and Account tabs based on your business requirements.

      3. Click OK.

Delete an AD user

You can delete AD users that you no longer use.

  1. Log on to the AD domain controller.

  2. Open Server Manager and click AD DS in the left-side navigation pane.

  3. In the right-side server list, right-click the server and select Active Directory Users and Computers.

  4. Find the desired user group, right-click the user that you want to delete, and select Delete from the shortcut menu.

  5. Confirm the deletion prompt and click Yes.
