After you create a stack group, you can update or delete the stack instances that are created in the stack group. This topic describes how to update or delete a stack instance.

Update a stack instance

  1. Log on to the Resource Orchestration Service (ROS) console.
  2. In the left-side navigation pane, click Stack Groups.
  3. In the upper-left corner, select the region where the stack that corresponds to the stack instance is deployed from the region drop-down list.
  4. On the Stack Groups page, find the stack group whose stack instance you want to update. Click 操作 and select Update Stack Instance in the Actions column.
  5. In the Set Deployment Options step, configure deployment option parameters.
  6. In the Specify Override Settings step, select the parameters that you want to override, use one of the following methods to reset the parameter values, and then click Next.
    • Method 1: Choose Edit Override Value > Override Stack Group Parameter Values to reset the parameter values.
    • Method 2: Choose Edit Override Value > Reset Override Field to reset the parameter values.
    Note After the stack instances are created, you can perform the following operations to view the reset parameter values: Log on to the ROS console with the execution account. On the Stacks page, click the ID of the stack for which you want to view the parameter values. On the Parameters tab, view the parameter values.
  7. In the Check and Confirm step, click Override.

Delete a single stack instance

Note You can perform the following operations only on a stack instance that is associated with a self-managed stack group.
  1. Log on to the ROS console.
  2. In the left-side navigation pane, click Stack Groups.
  3. In the upper-left corner, select the region where the stack that corresponds to the stack instance is deployed from the region drop-down list.
  4. On the Stack Groups page, click the name of the stack group whose stack instance you want to delete.
  5. Click the Instances tab, find the stack instance that you want to delete, and then click Delete in the Actions column.
  6. In the dialog box that appears, specify Method to Delete the Stack and click OK.
    • Retain Resources: When you delete the stack instance, the stack is retained.
    • Release Resources: When you delete the stack instance, the stack is also deleted. Exercise caution when you release resources.

Delete multiple stack instances at a time

  1. Log on to the ROS console.
  2. In the left-side navigation pane, click Stack Groups.
  3. In the upper-left corner, select the region where the stacks that correspond to the stack instances are deployed from the region drop-down list.
  4. On the Stack Groups page, find the stack group whose stack instances you want to delete. Click 操作 and select Delete Stack Instance in the Actions column.
  5. In the Set Deployment Options step, configure deployment parameters.
  6. In the Check and Confirm step, click Delete.
  7. In the dialog box that appears, select a method to delete the stack instances, and click OK.
    • Retain Resources: When you delete the stack instances, the stacks are retained.
    • Release Resources: When you delete the stack instances, the stacks are also deleted. Exercise caution when you release resources.
