Enable DNS network traffic analysis for your domain names to view data such as the source of DNS resolution requests, line hit analysis, acknowledgement feature analysis, and detailed resolution acknowledgement logs.
Pricing information
Domain names that have DNS network traffic analysis enabled are billed based on the number of DNS resolution requests. For more information, see 2. DNS network traffic analysis (pay-as-you-go).
Enable DNS network traffic analysis
Enable from the domain name list page
You can click the Enable icon in the Traffic Analysis status bar for your target domain name.
In the Enable Notification dialog box, click Enable to enable DNS network traffic analysis for the selected domain name.
Enable from the statistics dashboard
Go to Alibaba Cloud DNS – Statistics dashboard. By default, the dashboard displays the Resolution Dashboard > Public Zone page.
Turn on the toggle switch on the right to open the Traffic Analysis Settings dialog box.

Domains with Network Traffic Analysis Enabled
This list shows all domain names added to public authoritative resolution.
Log Storage and Analysis
Store and analyze by Alibaba Cloud DNS: Alibaba Cloud DNS stores data and provides reporting and analysis capabilities.
Delivers to SLS only: Alibaba Cloud DNS does not store resolution logs. It delivers them directly to SLS.
Alibaba Cloud DNS stores, analyzes, and delivers to SLS: Alibaba Cloud DNS stores logs and provides report analysis, and also delivers a copy to SLS.
Delivery Configuration
You must provide SLS information when you select Delivers to SLS only or Alibaba Cloud DNS stores, analyzes, and delivers to SLS.
Region: Select the log storage region.
Project: Create a new Project or select an existing one.
Logstore: Select an existing Logstore or create a new one.
Click OK to enable DNS network traffic analysis for the selected domain names.
Disable DNS network traffic analysis
Disable from the domain name list
Click the Close button in the Traffic Analysis section for your target domain name. Then click Confirm.
Disable from the statistics dashboard
Go to Alibaba Cloud DNS – Statistics dashboard. By default, the dashboard shows Resolution Dashboard > Public Zone.
Click the Traffic Analysis Enabled toggle switch to disable traffic analysis for all domain names that currently have it enabled.
To disable traffic analysis for specific domain names, click the Settings button. In the dialog box, modify the list under Domains with Network Traffic Analysis Enabled.
After you disable traffic analysis, the system stops collecting and storing DNS resolution logs. You cannot use these logs to troubleshoot future issues, such as inaccurate resolution or parsing errors.
Deliver DNS resolution logs to Simple Log Service (SLS)
Go to Alibaba Cloud DNS – Statistics dashboard. By default, the dashboard shows Resolution statistics dashboard > Public authoritative resolution.
Click the Settings button on the right to open the Traffic Analysis Settings dialog box. Then update the Log Storage and Analysis setting.

Select one of the following options:
Delivers to SLS only: Alibaba Cloud DNS does not store resolution logs. It delivers them directly to SLS.
Alibaba Cloud DNS stores, analyzes, and delivers to SLS: Alibaba Cloud DNS stores logs and provides report analysis, and also delivers a copy to SLS.
Export Configuration
Provide SLS information:
Region: Select the log storage region.
Log Project: Create a new Project or select an existing one.
Logstore: Select an existing Logstore or create a new one.
Click OK. The DNS resolution logs for the selected domain names will be delivered to SLS.
Go to the corresponding SLS Logstore to verify that logs are delivered correctly.
