This topic describes how to create a high-availability cluster for multiple Database Gateway agents.
Background information
Database Gateway allows you to deploy multiple Database Gateway agents on different servers in an environment that is not provided by Alibaba Cloud to form a high-availability cluster. This can improve link reliability. When a Database Gateway agent becomes unavailable, the Database Gateway server automatically switches the links from the faulty agent to another available agent, ensuring high availability.
Prerequisites
The Database Gateway service is activated and at least one Database Gateway agent is started. For more information, see Create a database gateway.
Procedure
- Log on to the DMS console V5.0.
In the top navigation bar, click Solution. In the left-side navigation pane, click Database gateway.
NoteIf you use the DMS console in simple mode, move the pointer over the
icon in the upper-left corner of the DMS console and choose All functions > Solution > Database gateway. On the Gateway List page, find the database gateway for which you want to add a Database Gateway agent to ensure high availability. (A Database Gateway agent is also known as a gateway node.) Then, click Detail in the Operation column.
On the Gateway details page, click Add gateway node.
Add a Database Gateway agent. Select an installation method based on your operating system. If you use a Windows operating system, click Download gateway. If you use other operating systems, copy and paste the command to the machine on which you want to add the Database Gateway agent, and press Enter to run the command.
NoteEach deployment command can start only one agent. If you need to start multiple agents, you can click refresh to update the deployment link.
On the Gateway details page, view the information about the added Database Gateway agent.
