After you perform user profile analysis, five data tables are created in MaxCompute, E-MapReduce (EMR), or StarRocks. You can view the created data tables in Data Map. You can refer to View lineages to view the relationships between the created data tables.
Prerequisites
Data is synchronized and processed before you perform operations in this experiment.
Data source type | Whether to manually collect data | Prerequisite |
MaxCompute | No | Simple user profile analysis by using DataWorks and MaxCompute is complete. |
EMR | No | Simple user profile analysis by using DataWorks and EMR is complete. |
StarRocks | Yes | Simple user profile analysis by using DataWorks and StarRocks is complete. |
For more information about how to complete simple user profile analysis by using DataWorks and MaxCompute, see User profile analysis (MaxCompute).

After user profile analysis is performed, five data tables are created in MaxCompute, EMR, or StarRocks. The data tables can be queried in the related data source.
Go to Data Map
In this example, the metadata collection feature of Data Map is used to collect metadata from various types of data sources.
Log on to the DataWorks console. In the top navigation bar, select the desired region. In the left-side navigation pane, choose . On the page that appears, click Go to Data Map.
Step 1: Collect metadata
In the left-side navigation pane of the DataMap page, click Collect Metadata. On the page that appears, find StarRocks on the Data Source Perspective tab and click Manage in the upper-right corner.
Click the Data Sources for Which No Crawler Is Created tab. Find the desired data source and click Create Crawler in the Actions column.
In the Configure Collection Plan dialog box, configure the Resource Group Name parameter and click Test Network Connectivity to test the network connectivity. After the test is successful, configure the Collection Plan parameter and click Confirmation.
NoteFor more information about metadata collection, see Metadata collection.
We recommend that you select a serverless resource group or an exclusive resource group for scheduling.
For a resource group that is purchased before February 1, 2024, if a network connection is established between the resource group and the data source but the network connectivity test fails, contact technical support to upgrade the resource group. Then, test the network connectivity again.
Step 2: View the details of a table
After metadata collection is complete, you can search for a table that is created during the user profile analysis process to view the table details.
Search for a table.
Log on to the DataWorks console. In the top navigation bar, select the desired region. In the left-side navigation pane, choose . On the page that appears, click Go to Data Map.
In the left-side navigation pane of the DataMap page, click the
icon. On the page that appears, select StarRocks on the Data Source tab, and then search for tables by type in the upper part of the page.
NoteFor more information about table search, see Query and manage common data.
View the details of the table.
After you find the desired table, click the table name to go to the table details page. The table details page displays the following information of the table: basic information, technical information, business information, details, and usage notes. For more information, see View the details of a table.
