A governance unit consists of one or more DataWorks workspaces. You can view the information about the health score, governance issue, and check event about all workspaces that belong to a governance unit. Members of the workspaces can view the management reports and governance reports of the governance unit to which the workspaces belong, and identify and handle governance issues in the governance unit at the earliest opportunity. This topic describes how to create and view a governance unit.

Background information
A governance unit consists of one or more DataWorks workspaces. You can view the information about the health score, governance issue, and check event about all workspaces that belong to a governance unit. In most cases, workspaces of the same business type are included in one governance unit. A workspace can belong to multiple governance units. Members of a workspace can view the management reports and governance reports of the governance unit to which the workspace belongs, and identify and handle governance issues in the governance unit at the earliest opportunity.
Limits
DataWorks allows you to create, modify, or delete governance units only by using Alibaba Cloud accounts or RAM users to which the AliyunDataWorksFullAccess policy is attached. Common users can only view the information about governance units.
Create a governance unit
Go to the Data Governance Center page.
Log on to the DataWorks console. In the left-side navigation pane, choose . On the page that appears, select the desired workspace from the drop-down list and click Go to DataStudio.
On the DataStudio page, click the
icon in the upper-left corner and choose .
In the top navigation bar, click Configuration. In the left-side navigation pane, click Governance Unit. The Governance unit page appears.
Create a governance unit.
Click New.
Configure the governance unit.
In the Governance unit dialog box, configure the parameters.

Description
Name
The name of the governance unit.
Description
The description of the governance unit.
Workspace
The workspaces that belong to the governance unit. You can select one or more DataWorks workspaces for which you want to collect statistics on health scores, governance issues, and check events. You can add workspaces of the same business type to one governance unit to identify and troubleshoot similar issues.
NoteOnly the workspaces in which you are assigned the Workspace Manager role are displayed.
Owner
The owner of the governance unit. The owner manages the governance unit in a centralized manner.
Click OK.
Manage governance units
On the Governance unit page, you can search for a specific governance unit by configuring the Name and Workspace parameters. In the search result, you can view the name, description, workspaces, owner, creator, and creation time of the governance unit. You can also modify or delete a governance unit by clicking the edit or delete icon in the Operation column of the governance unit.
You can enter a keyword in the Name field to search for governance units in fuzzy match mode. All governance units whose names contain the keyword are displayed in the search result.
