A governance unit groups one or more DataWorks workspaces so you can track health scores, governance items, and check events across all member workspaces in one place. Workspace members can view the management and governance reports for any unit their workspace belongs to, making it easier to identify and resolve governance issues early. Group workspaces of the same business type into a single unit to surface similar issues together.
A workspace can belong to multiple governance units.

In the left-side navigation pane, choose System Settings > Governance Settings > Unit.
Click Create and fill in the parameters.
Parameter Description Name Name of the governance unit. Description Description of the governance unit. Workspace One or more DataWorks workspaces to include in this unit. Add workspaces of the same business type to the same unit to identify and troubleshoot similar issues together. Only workspaces where you hold the Workspace Administrator role are listed. Contact Owner of the governance unit, responsible for centralized management.
Click OK.
Manage governance units
On the Governance Unit page, search for units by Name and Workspace. Entering a keyword in the Name field returns all units whose names contain that keyword (fuzzy match).
The list shows each unit's name, description, workspaces, owner, creator, and creation time. To edit or remove a unit, click Modify or Delete in the Actions column.

Creating, modifying, and deleting governance units require the permissions described in the Permissions section. Workspace members without those permissions can view unit information but cannot make changes.
