This topic provides answers to some frequently asked questions about the shared resource group for Data Integration. We recommend that you use the shared resource group for Data Integration only for debugging.

What is the billing method of the shared resource group for Data Integration?

The billing method of the shared resource group for Data Integration is pay-as-you-go. For more information, see Billing of the shared resource group for Data Integration (pay-as-you-go).

What types of nodes can be run on the shared resource group for Data Integration?

Batch synchronization nodes can be run on the shared resource group for Data Integration. Real-time synchronization nodes and data synchronization solutions cannot be run on the shared resource group for Data Integration. The shared resource group for Data Integration is suitable for scenarios where a small number of nodes need to be run and you do not have a high requirement for the timeliness of data output. If you have high requirements for node stability and the timeliness of data output, we recommend that you use an exclusive resource group for Data Integration to run your data synchronization node.

What types of data sources are supported by the shared resource group for Data Integration?

What types of network environments can the shared resource group for Data Integration access?

The shared resource group for Data Integration can access data sources that are deployed on the Internet and the classic network. The shared resource group for Data Integration can also access specific types of data sources that are deployed in virtual private clouds (VPCs), such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, and SQL Server data sources.

If you want to use the shared resource group for Data Integration to access a data source that is configured with an IP address whitelist, you must add the IP addresses or CIDR blocks of the servers in the region where your DataWorks workspace resides to the IP address whitelist. For more information, see Add the IP addresses or CIDR blocks of the servers in the region where the DataWorks workspace resides to the whitelist of a data source.

What is the maximum number of parallel threads that are supported by the shared resource group for Data Integration?

Due to the limit on the capacity of the shared resource group for Data Integration, a maximum of five parallel threads are supported for all newly created data synchronization nodes within a tenant that are run on the shared resource group for Data Integration. The maximum number of parallel threads supported for all existing data synchronization nodes within a tenant that are run on the shared resource group for Data Integration remains unchanged.

What are the precautions for using the shared resource group for Data Integration?

  • You cannot use the shared resource group for Data Integration to run a newly created data synchronization node to synchronize data between data sources that belong to different Alibaba Cloud accounts. If you have such a requirement, use an exclusive resource group for Data Integration to run the node.
  • The shared resource group for Data Integration does not support the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) protocol. If your data synchronization node requires the SSL protocol, use an exclusive resource group for Data Integration to run the node.
  • You cannot adjust the memory size of the shared resource group for Data Integration for a batch synchronization node by using the codeless user interface (UI). If you want to optimize memory performance, use an exclusive resource group for Data Integration to run the node.
