DataWorks:DataStudio and Operation Center: Data processing

Last Updated:Jan 09, 2025

The DataStudio and Operation Center services of DataWorks allow you to develop data, create workflows, and perform intelligent O&M on workflows in an efficient and standard manner.

Overview

DataStudio and Operation Center support the following features:

  • DataStudio supports various compute engines, such as MaxCompute, E-MapReduce (EMR), Cloudera's Distribution including Apache Hadoop (CDH), Hologres, AnalyticDB, and ClickHouse. You can create, test, deploy, and perform O&M operations on tasks of the preceding compute engines in DataStudio.

  • DataWorks provides an intelligent code editor and the scheduling capability and allows you to configure scheduling dependencies in a visualized manner. The scheduling capability is verified by scheduling tasks and complex business dependencies in Alibaba Group.

  • DataStudio isolates the development environment from the production environment and provides features such as code version management, code review, smoke testing, and release control. In addition, DataStudio works together with ActionTrail. This way, enterprises can develop data in a standard manner.

  • Operation Center supports features such as data timeliness assurance, intelligent diagnosis, impact analysis, automatic O&M, and mobile O&M.

    Note

DataWorks workspaces in standard mode isolate the development environment from the production environment. For more information, see Differences between workspaces in basic mode and workspaces in standard mode.

  • Visualized development UI开发组织结构You can create workflows by performing simple drag-and-drop operations. You can also configure scheduling parameters and develop data in the UI.

  • Task monitoring and troubleshooting

Billing

When you use DataStudio and Operation Center, you may be charged the following fees:

  • Scheduling fee: After you deploy a task to the production environment for scheduling and running, the scheduling fee is generated. For more information about the scheduling fee, see Billing of task scheduling.

  • Fee for O&M monitoring: If you configure a monitoring rule for a task and the monitoring rule is triggered, the monitoring fee is generated. For more information about the fee for O&M monitoring, see the topics in the Billing of intelligent monitoring directory.

Note

When you perform data development operations, the computing and storage fee of a compute engine may also be generated. The fee is not charged on the DataWorks side or included in bills for DataWorks.

Use DataStudio and Operation Center

After you activate DataWorks, you can purchase resource groups, add data sources, and associate computing resource with DataStudio based on your business requirements. Then, you can start to develop data. For more information, see DataStudio overview and Operation Center overview.
