DataWorks provides Basic Edition and four advanced editions: Standard Edition, Professional Edition, Enterprise Edition, and Ultimate Edition. You can purchase an edition based on your business requirements. This topic describes the differences in scenarios and features among the DataWorks editions.

Considerations for purchase

  • DataWorks Basic Edition is free of charge. DataWorks advanced editions support the subscription billing method. For more information, see Overview.
  • Only one DataWorks advanced edition can be purchased in a region at a time. You can purchase another edition in the same region only after the purchased edition expires and is released. You can upgrade a DataWorks advanced edition to a more advanced edition before it expires.
  • If you do not renew a DataWorks advanced edition before it expires, the advanced edition is downgraded to the Basic Edition. For more information about the downgrade rules for specific features of advanced editions, see Feature downgrades of DataWorks advanced editions upon expiration.

Scenario comparison

The following table describes the differences in scenarios among DataWorks editions.

DataWorks edition Scenario

Standard Edition In addition to the features that are provided by DataWorks Basic Edition, DataWorks Standard Edition provides more professional data governance features and the enhanced intelligent editor and data integration features.
Professional Edition In addition to the features that are provided by DataWorks Standard Edition, DataWorks Professional Edition provides more professional data security features and enhanced data governance and data service features. You can directly use these features rather than developing code to implement data governance and data security.
Enterprise Edition In addition to the features that are provided by DataWorks Professional Edition, DataWorks Enterprise Edition provides more intelligent data governance capabilities and more personalized mobile O&M capabilities.
Ultimate Edition In addition to the features that are provided by DataWorks Enterprise Edition, DataWorks Ultimate Edition allows you to customize the DataWorks console, logo, and theme. DataWorks Ultimate Edition also provides the metadata backflow service and allows you to build your own data mid-end.
