Dataphin:User group Permission Management

User group permissions streamline the process of authorizing, renewing, and revoking access for group members, enabling efficient management. This topic covers the application, return, and renewal of permissions for user groups.

Limits

Permission details are not displayed for user groups that are not enabled on the user group permissions page. For instructions on enabling user groups, see Manage User Groups.

User Group and Resource Permissions Description

A many-to-many relationship exists between user groups and resource permissions. A single user group can hold multiple resource permissions, while a resource permission can be associated with several user groups.

User group permission details

  1. On the top menu bar of the Dataphin homepage, select Management Center > Permission Management.

  2. In the left-side navigation pane, select Permission Management > User Group Permissions to access the User Group Permissions page.

  3. On the User Group Permissions page, you can perform a fuzzy search using user group name keywords, or filter user groups by Managed By Me or by selecting an administrator.

  4. The page displays the filtered user group names, user group descriptions, and administrator information.

  5. You can perform the following operations on a target user group.

    View Permission Details

    Displays detailed permissions for the user group. For further details, see Manage Table Permissions, Manage Data Source Permissions, Manage Function Permissions.

    View User Group Details

    Provides information on user group members. For more information, see Add and Manage Members.

Description

Filter and Search Area

Supports searching by table name and quick filtering of tables Expiring In 7 Days, or clicking the Filter button to filter by business unit/project/data source and table type.

Apply for Table Permissions

By clicking the Apply For Table Permissions button, you can request read, write, and other permissions for the table. For more details, see Apply, Renew, and Return Table Permissions.

List Area

Presents table name, table type, business unit/project/data source, resource owner, permission type, authorization time, and expiration time.

Operation Area

Enables view table authorization details, return, and renewal operations for tables.

  • View Table Authorization Details: Offers insight into table-level and field-level permissions. For further information, see Table Permission Details.

  • Return: Returns all permissions (table and fields). In the Return Permissions dialog box, click OK.

  • Renewal: Extends the usage period for the table or fields. In the Renewal Permissions dialog box, select Valid Until, enter the Renewal Reason, and click OK.

    To customize renewal fields, perform the renewal on the table permission details page. For more details, see Table Permission Details.

List Area

Lists data source name, data source owner, permission type, environment, authorization time, and expiration time.

Operation Area

Allows return and renewal operations for data sources.

  • Return: Returns all permissions. In the Return Permissions dialog box, click OK.

  • Renewal: Extends the validity period for the data source. In the Renewal Permissions dialog box, select Valid Until, provide the Renewal Reason, and click OK.

Displays the function's data object name, type, project, expiration date, and permission type.

Operation Area

Allows return and renewal operations for functions.

  • Return: Returns all permissions. In the Return Permissions dialog box, click OK.

  • Renewal: Extends the usage period for the function. In the Renewal Permissions dialog box, select Valid Until, enter the Renewal Reason, and click OK.
