Before you create a project for data development, you must set the compute engine for your Dataphin instance. After the compute engine is set, you can add compute sources to the project to provide compute and storage resources. This topic describes how to set AnalyticDB for PostgreSQL as the compute engine for Dataphin.
Prerequisites
The system metadata has been initialized. For more information, see Initialize the metadata warehouse using AnalyticDB for PostgreSQL as the compute engine.
Permissions
All system roles except for Tag Specialist and Business Member, and custom global roles with the Cluster Management - View permission, can manage compute clusters.
Procedure
In the top menu bar of the Dataphin homepage, choose Management Center > System Settings.
In the navigation pane on the left, choose Tenant Settings > Compute Settings.
On the Compute Settings page, select AnalyticDB for PostgreSQL.
Click Save.
What to do next
After you set the compute engine for the Dataphin instance, click Manage Compute Clusters. You are redirected to the Planning > Compute Sources > Manage ADB PG Clusters dialog box, where you can create or manage AnalyticDB for PostgreSQL clusters. For more information, see Create and manage ADB PG clusters.
You can also add compute sources to existing projects to provide them with compute and storage resources. To learn how to create a project and add compute sources, see Create a general-purpose project.
