Before you create a project for data development, you must set a compute engine for your Dataphin instance. After you set the compute engine, you can add a corresponding compute source to your project. The compute source provides compute and storage resources for the project. This topic describes how to set the compute engine for a Dataphin instance to MaxCompute.
Prerequisites
The system metadata must be initialized. For more information, see Initialize the metadata warehouse using MaxCompute as the compute engine.
Procedure
Log on to the Dataphin console as a super administrator.
In the top menu bar of the Dataphin home page, choose Management Center > System Settings.
In the navigation pane on the left, choose Tenant Settings > Compute Settings.
On the Compute Settings page, select MaxCompute.
In the Endpoint text box, configure the MaxCompute parameters.
Parameter
Description
Region
Supported regions include China (Shanghai), China (Beijing), China (Shenzhen), China (Hangzhou), China (Chengdu), and others.
Network connectivity
If you select China (Shanghai), China (Beijing), China (Shenzhen), China (Hangzhou), or China (Chengdu) as the region, you can set Network connectivity to Public network access or Alibaba Cloud classic network or VPC.
ImportantUsing a public network connection causes cross-domain access and incurs extra fees when you download data. For more information, see Endpoint.
Endpoint
If you select Other for the region, enter the Endpoint of your MaxCompute instance. For more information, see Endpoints for MaxCompute in different regions and with different network connection types.
Click Save.
What to do next
After you set the compute engine for the Dataphin instance, you can add a compute source to your project. The compute source provides compute and storage resources for the project. For more information about how to create a project and add a compute source, see Create a general-purpose project.
