Before you create projects for data development, you must set a compute engine for your Dataphin instance. After you set the compute engine, you can add compute sources to provide compute and storage resources for your projects. This topic describes how to set the compute engine for Dataphin to Databricks.
Prerequisites
The system metadata has been initialized. For more information, see Using Databricks to initialize the metadata warehouse.
Limits
If the metadata warehouse compute engine is set to Databricks, the compute engine for business tenants must also be Databricks. You cannot switch to another engine.
Procedure
In the top menu bar of the Dataphin homepage, choose Management Hub > System Settings.
In the navigation pane on the left, choose Tenant Settings > Compute Settings.
On the Compute Settings page, select Databricks.
Click Save.
What to do next
After you set the compute engine for the Dataphin instance, you can add compute sources to your projects to provide them with compute and storage resources. For more information about how to create a project and add a compute source, see Create a general-purpose project.
