Before you create a project for data development, you must set a compute engine for your Dataphin instance. After you set a compute engine, the system allows you to add the corresponding compute source to a project to provide computing and storage resources. This topic describes how to set Amazon EMR as the compute engine for a Dataphin instance.
Prerequisites
The system metadata is initialized. For more information, see Initialize the metadata warehouse by using Amazon EMR as the metadata warehouse engine.
Limits
When Amazon EMR is set as the metadata warehouse compute engine, only Amazon EMR can be used as the compute source engine. Other compute engines are not supported.
Procedure
In the top navigation bar of the Dataphin homepage, choose Management Hub > System Settings.
In the left navigation bar, choose Tenant Settings > Compute Settings.
On the Compute Settings page, select Amazon EMR.
Click Save.
