Dataphin:Resource Monitoring

Last Updated:Jan 21, 2025

Resource monitoring enables you to manage the activation and deactivation of the schedule resource dashboard. The Dataphin Management Center offers instance-level control for this dashboard. This topic outlines the steps to turn on or off the schedule resource dashboard.

Feature limitations

Resource monitoring is limited to resources within the Dataphin cluster.

Prerequisites

Contact the Dataphin deployment team to set up Prometheus monitoring. After deployment, configuration can proceed as usual.

Note

The monitoring data for the schedule resource dashboard originates from Prometheus. Ensure that the Prometheus Service is functioning correctly in your environment to avoid inaccurate or missing monitoring data.

Procedure

  1. Log in with a metadata warehouse account or an administrator account to access the metadata warehouse tenant.

  2. On the Dataphin home page, navigate to the top menu bar and select Management Center > System Settings.

  3. In the left-side navigation pane, choose System Settings > Resource Settings.

  4. On the Resource Configuration page, click the Resource Monitoring tab.

  5. Within the Resource Monitoring tab, you have the option to enable or shutdown the schedule resource dashboard feature.

    • Enable: By default, this feature is enabled. Once activated, all tenants can view the global schedule resource allocation and usage for the current Dataphin instance in the Operation Center. They can also monitor resource consumption trends and the list of tasks requiring optimization within the tenant. This facilitates the evaluation of resource utilization, enabling timely scaling and task optimization for inefficient resource configurations. For more information, see Schedule Resource Dashboard.

    • Shutdown: Disabling this feature will render the schedule resource dashboard unavailable.

  6. To finalize the configuration, click Confirm.
