Dataphin:Create and manage data standard sets

Last Updated:Jun 23, 2026

A data standard set groups standards that share similar or consistent business meanings. Beyond classification, it defines viewing permissions and approval configurations for the standards it contains. As a best practice, map each table or business entity (such as a customer) to one data standard set, and assign each standard type its own template (such as a basic standard or indicator standard). This simplifies standard definitions while supporting diverse management requirements.

Permissions

  • Super administrators and data standard administrators can create and manage all data standard set directories and data standard sets.

  • Data standard set owners can manage the data standard sets for which they are responsible, including editing and deleting the sets.

Limits

  • The hierarchy of a data standard set directory cannot exceed 10 levels.

  • The total number of data standard set directories cannot exceed 1,000 across all levels.

  • A single tenant can create a maximum of 10,000 data standard sets.

Data standard set list

The Standard Set page lists default and custom data standard sets. From here, you can edit, clone, or delete a data standard set, or create standards within it.

    Description

    Search area

Search for a data standard set directory by a keyword in its name or code.

    Operation area

View the name and code of a data standard set directory. You can also create, edit, and delete directories:

    • Create: Create a data standard set directory. This includes specifying the parent directory, directory name, and directory code.

      • Parent Directory: Select a parent directory. If you leave this empty, the new directory is created at the root level.

      • Directory Name: Enter a custom name for the directory. The name must be globally unique, contain no more than 128 characters, and cannot contain forward slashes (/).

      • Directory Code: Enter a custom code for the directory. The code must be globally unique, contain only letters and digits, and be no more than 12 characters long.

        Important
        • The directory code is case-sensitive for display but case-insensitive for uniqueness checks.

        • The directory code may be used in rules for automatically generating standard codes. Once a data standard set or standard is created, the code cannot be modified. Fill in the code with care.

    • Edit: For a directory that contains a data standard set, you cannot modify the code. You can modify the parent directory and name.

    • Delete: You cannot delete a directory that contains subdirectories or is associated with data standard sets.
