You can renew your backup schedules in Database Backup (DBS) to extend their subscriptions.

Impacts

  • A subscription backup schedule has a validity period. If you do not renew a subscription backup schedule before the end of the validity period, your backup services may be interrupted. For more information, see Expiration and overdue payments.
  • We recommend that you enable auto-renewal for your backup schedules or manually renew your backup schedules before the expiration date.

Billing

The fee required to renew a backup schedule is the same as that required to purchase a backup schedule. For more information, see Backup fees.

Auto-renewal

If you enable auto-renewal for a backup schedule, you do not need to manually renew the backup schedule on a regular basis. This ensures service continuity even if you do not renew the backup schedule on time.

Enable auto-renewal when you purchase a backup schedule

When you purchase a subscription backup schedule, select Auto-renewal.
Note
  • By default, the period of an auto-renewed monthly subscription to a backup schedule is one month, and the period of an auto-renewed yearly subscription to a backup schedule is one year. For example, if you select auto-renewal when you purchase a backup schedule with a six-month subscription, the system automatically renews the backup schedule with a one-month subscription each time the backup schedule is due to expire.
  • When auto-renewal is enabled, your payment will be collected nine days before the expiration date of a backup schedule. Make sure that your Alibaba Cloud account has a sufficient balance. If your backup schedule is about to expire within 24 hours, you must manually renew the subscription.
  • If you have manually renewed a backup schedule before it is automatically renewed, the system will renew the backup schedule based on the updated expiration date.

  1. Log on to the DBS console. Choose Expenses > Renewal Management in the top navigation bar.
  2. On the Manual or Nonrenewal tab, select one or more backup schedules that you want to renew and click Enable Auto Renewal below the list.
