This topic describes how to grant permissions on instances to users and revoke permissions on instances from users in the Data Management (DMS) console.

Prerequisites

  • The logon permissions of your instance are not in Security Collaboration mode.
  • The performance view permissions of your instance are in Security Collaboration mode. For more information, see Control modes.
  • You are a database administrator (DBA) or a DMS administrator. For more information about how to view your system role, see View owned system roles.

Procedure

  1. Log on to the DMS console V5.0.
    Note To switch to the previous version of the DMS console, click the Return to old version icon in the lower-right corner of the page. For more information, see Switch to the previous version of the DMS console.
  2. Move the pointer over Shortcuts and choose Data Assets > Instances.
  3. On the Instances tab, search for the instance whose permissions you want to manage in the search box.
    Note You can search for an instance by instance name, instance address, or database type.
  4. In the Actions column of the instance, choose More > Management authority.
  5. On the Management authority page, you can perform the following operations to manage permissions:
    • Grant permissions to a user
      1. Click Authorize user next to Operation.
      2. In the Authorize user dialog box, perform the following steps:
        • Select one or more users from the Add User drop-down list.
        • Specify the Expire Date parameter as needed.
          Note By default, the Expire Date parameter is set to 1 Months.
      3. Click OK.
    • Revoke permissions from one or more users.
      • Revoke permissions from a user.
        1. Find the user from which you want to revoke permissions and click Recycle Permission in the Actions column.
        2. In the Permission Operation dialog box, select the type of permissions that you want to revoke.
        3. Click OK.
      • Revoke permissions from multiple users.
        1. Select multiple users from which you want to revoke permissions.
        2. Click Recycle Permission in the Actions column.
        3. In the Permission Operation dialog box, select the type of permissions that you want to revoke.
        4. Click OK.
