This topic describes how to log on to a database instance in the Data Management (DMS) console.

Prerequisites

  • The account used to log on to the database instance is granted the permissions on the databases and tables.
  • The database instance is registered with DMS. For more information, see Instances.
  • The database instance is managed in Flexible Management or Stable Change mode. For more information, see Control modes.

Procedure

  1. Log on to the DMS console V5.0.
  2. In the left-side navigation pane, find the database instance that you want to log on to and right-click the instance.
    Note Database instances are displayed in the Logon-free Instances, Instances Connected, and Instances Disconnected sections.
  3. Click Login Instance.
  4. In the dialog box that appears, set the Database account, and Database password parameters.
  5. Click OK.
    After you log on to the database instance, the SQL Console page appears. You can perform operations on the databases based on your business requirements.
