This topic provides answers to some frequently asked questions about resource billing in Container Service for Kubernetes (ACK) clusters.
What are the billable items in ACK?
- Cluster management: Management fees are charged only for ACK Pro clusters. No management
fees are charged for other cluster types. The management of ACK Pro clusters is billed
on pay-as-you-go basis. For the billing rules, see Billing of cluster management.
Note For more information about the billing rules of Container Registry, see Billing.
- Cloud resources: The Alibaba cloud resources that are used in ACK clusters. For the billing rules, see Billing of cloud services.
Why do applications fail to restart after I change the billing method of a data disk mounted to an ECS instance from pay-as-you-go to subscription when I change the billing method of the ECS instance from pay-as-you-go to subscription?

Pods are dynamic resources and may be restarted or deleted. Therefore, the computing resources required by pods dynamically change. After you change the billing method of a computing resource from pay-as-you-go to subscription, the computing resource cannot be changed. As a result, pods on the ECS instance cannot be updated after you change the billing method of the mounted data disk from pay-as-you-go to subscription. This issue cannot be resolved yet. To reduce the cost of data disks, we recommend that you use subscription storage resource plans. For more information, see Storage capacity units (SCUs) and Overview.
