Compute Nest:Create a trial service instance

Last Updated:Jun 06, 2025

A trial service instance provides most of the features of a service instance. You can view and explore various features provided by service providers and Compute Nest by using the trial service instance to check the service feasibility. You are not charged for a trial service instance. This topic describes the detailed information about a trial service instance.

Usage notes

Before you create a trial service instance, take note of the following items:

  • The procedure for creating a trial service instance is the same as that for creating a service instance.

  • A trial service instance is retained for a specific period of time. After the retention period ends, the trial service instance is automatically deleted. Do not use trial service instances for production purposes.

Create a trial service instance

  1. Log on to the Compute Nest console.

  2. In the left-side navigation pane, click Service Catalog.

  3. On the Service Catalog page, find the service that you want to use and click View Details in the service section.

  4. On the service details page, click Free Trial.

  5. On the Create Free Trial Service Instance page, configure the parameters as prompted.

    • If the service supports PrivateLink and you want to access the service from virtual private cloud (VPCs) by using PrivateLink, select VPC Access in the Network Settings section. In the VPC Information section, configure the VPC, Security Group, and Zone and vSwitch parameters.

    • If you want to use the recommended custom domain name configured by the service provider, select Use the recommended custom domain name.

      Note

If you use a custom domain name, you are charged based on the billing of Alibaba Cloud DNS PrivateZone. If you do not use a custom domain name, you can use the domain name or IP address of the endpoint to access the service by using PrivateLink. For more information, see the Use PrivateLink to access a service instance section of this topic.

  6. Click Next: Confirm Order.

  7. After you confirm the order information, select I have read and agree to Compute Nest Terms of Service and click Start Free Trial.

  8. After the trial service instance is created, you can view the information about the trial service on the service instance details page. For more information, see the View a trail service instance section of this topic.

View a trail service instance

  1. Log on to the Compute Nest console.

  2. In the left-side navigation pane, click Service Instance.

  3. On the Service Instance page, click the My Service Instance tab. On this tab, click the Trial Service sub-tab.

  4. Find the service instance that you want to view or manage and click its ID.

  5. On the details page of the service instance, view the information and perform operations on the following tabs:

    • On the Overview tab, you can view the overview information about the instance, including the service resource overview, basic instance information, service information, and configurations.

    • On the Resources tab, you can view the information about resources and pods and perform operations on the resources. For example, you can connect to a resource, diagnose the health status of a resource, and run commands on a resource.

    • On the Monitoring tab, you can view the monitoring details of resources.

    • On the O&M Management tab, you can use CloudOps Orchestration Service (OOS) to manage the resources of the service instance. For example, you can send remote commands, upload files, clean up disks, and perform auto scaling.

    • On the O&M Items tab, you can view the O&M operations performed on the service instance. The O&M items can be in the unfinished, in processing, and pending states.

    • On the Logs tab, you can view the operation logs of the resources within the service instance and deployment logs of the service instance.

Use PrivateLink to access a service instance

After a service instance is created, you can use the following methods to access the service instance if the service instance supports PrivateLink:

  • Use the domain name of the endpoint to access the service.

  • Use the custom domain name to access the service.

If a custom domain name is configured for the service, you can use the custom domain name to access the endpoint.

  • Use the IP address of the endpoint to access the service.
